A PC player is a different customer from a mobile player: bigger purchases, longer loyalty, sharper questions. Two cards serve them more than any others — Steam and Razer Gold — and they are not substitutes for each other.
The Steam wallet: simple, with one condition
A Steam card adds credit to the account's wallet, spent on games, add-ons and marketplace items. The product is simple, but it carries a condition many sellers do not know: a Steam wallet locks to one currency. The first top-up sets the wallet's currency, and after that a card in another currency is not accepted.
So the question before selling is not "which country?" but "what currency is your Steam wallet?" — the customer can see it on any store page. Whoever started in dollars stays in dollars; whoever started in riyals stays in riyals.
Razer Gold: not a single-store card
This is where most sellers get it wrong. Razer Gold is a wallet spent across hundreds of games and services, not credit for one store. Players use it to top up games that do not accept Arab bank cards, or games that have no dedicated card at all. That makes it the answer for a customer asking about a game that is not in your catalogue.
- Its real advantage: broad coverage of PC and mobile titles under one balance.
- For the customer: no international bank card and no account in every separate store.
- For you: you sell to a customer whose specific product you do not stock, instead of turning them away.
It is also tied to the account's region in most cases, so the same rule applies: ask before you sell.
Who is your customer here?
PC players buy less often than mobile players but in larger amounts, and they appear in force in specific seasons: the big Steam sales in summer and winter especially, where wallet purchases multiply within a few days. Put a reminder in your own calendar for those dates and fund your balance before them.
Recurring mistakes
- Selling a Steam card in a currency other than the wallet's. The code is rejected and the customer assumes it is fake.
- Treating Razer Gold as a store card. You miss its most valuable use: serving a customer whose product you do not stock.
- Not explaining where to redeem. Send the steps with the code; it saves ten follow-up messages.
- Running out of balance during sale season. The worst possible time to say "not available".
